Do you:

Feel depressed, unmotivated and want more out of your life or relationships?

Live a double life and want to be more present in life?

Become overwhelmed with work, life, and relationship demands or pressures?

Fear that you are unable to forgive your partner for cheating?

Have shame about your sexual behaviors or thoughts?

Spend too much time thinking about sex or being sexual?

Feel you or your sexuality have been shamed or misunderstood by previous therapists?

Stay in relationships that are toxic or that don't meet your needs?

Find yourself snapping easily on your partner or others?

Our clients report feeling that they are heard and understood with the support they are given by our therapists. We honor each individual client we support and help them work through the pain they face and find real solutions so that each one can have more connected personal lives and satisfying relationships.

We do more than just listen and agree. We value honesty, compassion, and transparency

as this is the foundation of

human relationships, connection, and life.

What we offer

Our Services

Individual Therapy

We use a combination of Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), DBT, and Solution-Focused Therapy to help you understand underlying reasons for your behavior, give you tangible skills needed to repair unwanted thoughts and behaviors, and find viable options for reconnecting. These approaches will help you to improve relationships, intimacy, improve your coping, resolve trauma, and heal addictions.

Couples Counseling

Couples Counseling is designed to provide you and your partner a safe place to talk about difficult topics, resolve conflict in a healthy way, and develop tools to restore trust. Our couples report increased intimacy, feeling reconnected, and closeness with their partner. If you're unclear about how to resolve challenges in your relationship, or unclear about the future of your relationship, couples counseling can help bring about clarity in a safe place.

EMDR Therapy

& Trauma Therapy

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a powerful, evidence-based approach to therapy that has been proven effective for relieving symptoms of trauma as well as other mental health issues. EMDR helps to unlock frozen memories, emotions, and beliefs systems so that the brain can properly "reprocess" them. EMDR is also contains a meditation component to help you better manage uncomfortable emotions. We help people resolve childhood sexual abuse, physical abuse, neglect, violence, grief loss, and many other traumatic events.

LGBTQ Affirmative Therapy &

LGBTQ Relationships

It can be difficult to explain the intricacies of LGBTQ life and culture to a heteronormative-focused therapist. Our therapists identify as gay and allied individuals who provide individual and couples therapy to other LGBTQ people. Having a gay or allied therapist offers a safe place to explore issues LGBTQ people face.

We walk alongside you, guiding you every step of the way into the direction of hope, healing, and connection.

We are here to help you get back to your life - not stay in therapy forever.

Sex & Porn Addiction

You are not alone. We help you heal from hurtful sexual behaviors with non-shaming support and guidance.

Sex, when used compulsively, can cause destruction in our relationships, can damage our self-esteem, and harm our health. We can help you with excessive sexual behaviors or hooking up, excessive porn use, excessive masturbation, erotic-massage parlors, voyeurism, exhibitionism, and infidelity.

Sex Addiction

We bring back the art of listening and honoring the unique relationship we have with each client we support.

"I actually felt like I was being heard. I've always felt like my last therapist was offering advice even before getting to know me or hearing what I was saying."

Why Life and Sex Therapy Center

1. We emphasize cultural awareness and sensitivity: race, age, sexual orientation- all of the attributes that make you - you! As we support you on your journey, we never ignore the things that make you, you. We consist of racially diverse, LGBTQ affirmative therapists who value the importance of cultural sensitivity when providing you therapy.

2. More than just reflective listening: Listening and Validating your feelings is important and this comes natural for us! But giving you solutions should not be ignored - we will provide you with direction, loving honesty, and constructive feedback to guide you in a healthy direction.

3. We have Sex Therapists and Sex-Addiction Therapists:

Our therapists have been trained in Sex Addiction and Sex Therapy. Certified Sex Addiction Therapists (CSATs) are certified through the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP) and are trained to treat unwanted, addictive sexual behaviors as well as the underlying causes. CSATs are rigorously trained in current, up-to-date research and clinical interventions on sex and porn addiction as well as infidelity. CSATs are also trained in treating partners of sex addictions and affair-recovery. Certified Sex Therapists (CSTs) are certified through American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT).

4. We Use Evidence-Based Practices to help you get back into your daily routines quickly. We use longer-term psychoanalytic approaches to address the unconscious drives as well, but nothing beats getting research-based solutions to the challenges you are having right now.

5. Effective and rapid treatment with EMDR: EMDR is a research-based technique that is used to help you quickly and safely resolve trauma, reduce fears, address addictions, and increase confidence.
